PARTS OF SPEECH (INTERMEDIATE)

Parts of Speech are the building blocks of English grammar.

1. Noun

Names a person, place, animal, or thing.

Example:

Rahul is a student.

2. Pronoun

Replaces a noun.

Example:

He is a student.

3. Verb

Shows an action or state.

Example:

She writes a letter.

4. Adjective

Describes a noun.

Example:

It is a beautiful flower.

5. Adverb

Describes how, when, where, or to what extent.

Example:

He runs quickly.

6. Preposition

Shows the relationship between words.

Example:

The book is on the table.

7. Conjunction

Joins words, phrases, or clauses.

Example:

Rahul and Mohan are friends.

8. Interjection

Expresses emotion.

Example:

Wow! What a beautiful painting!
