NOUN (INTERMEDIATE)

Definition:

A noun is a word that names a person, place, animal, thing, or idea.

Types of Nouns

1. Proper Noun

Names a particular person, place, or thing.

Examples:

Rahul, India, Delhi, Monday

2. Common Noun

Names a general person, place, or thing.

Examples:

Boy, Girl, City, School

3. Collective Noun

Names a group of people, animals, or things.

Examples:

Team, Class, Family, Crowd

4. Material Noun

Names a material or substance.

Examples:

Gold, Water, Iron, Cotton

5. Abstract Noun

Names a quality, feeling, or idea.

Examples:

Honesty, Beauty, Love, Wisdom

Example Sentences

The class is silent.

Gold is a precious metal.

Kindness is a great quality.

The family is happy.
